Native of the Andean City of Quito, Mauricio Luzuriaga, is a self-thought fine art photographer. Currently residing in Cincinnati, Luzuriaga's photographic work has been displayed in local exhibitions, national and international architectural and art magazines.

Presented in the form of installations at Metal Blast and SS Nova are images belonging to three series: Arquitectura, Encierros, and Análogas, as well as other images expressing his personal experience and emotions.

Luzuriaga's though-provoking compositional juxtapositions consist of architectural settings of strong geometry inexplicably inhabited by intriguing nude female characters, images that capture the beautifully incongruent moment in which a female form immerses itself in a surreal environment, unsettling series that explore psychological aspects of feeling caged, residing in labyrinths and urging for freedom, series of images of human figures and organic elements presented in combinations that playfully accentuate the ephemeral manner in which their forms appear to coincide.
